The rotating roller pellet mill, also called R type pellet mill, compresses crushed materials into uniform pellets through high pressure. It is widely used in feed production for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture.
Structure & Working Principle
The roller driven pellet mill consists of a feeding system, roller, fixed die, cutter, drive system, and power source (electric motor or diesel engine).
When the machine starts, the motor drives the roller.
Raw materials enter through the feed inlet, where the rotating roller compresses them into the die holes. The pressure and friction shape the pellets, which are then cut by the cutter and discharged through the outlet.
Comparison to Rotating Die Pellet Mills
The roller-driven pellet mill is an upgraded version of the conventional model, designed for high-fiber and tough materials. It's perfect for users needing high-quality pellets and handling diverse materials.
Stronger Pressing Force
Conventional die-rotating pellet mills often slip or clog when processing high-fiber or hard materials.
The large-diameter roller design ensures direct power transmission, with motor speed up to 960 rpm, delivering higher torque to improve pressing force and output.
The pellets produced are more uniform in length, denser, smoother, and less prone to breakage or irregular shapes.
Note: Stronger pressing force accelerates die wear. Regular replacement is recommended to maintain performance.
Wider Material Adaptability
The large roller grips materials better, so corn, soybean meal, and wheat bran can be pelletized without fine grinding, reducing prep work. It also mixes and crushes during processing, making it ideal for poultry and ruminant feed.
The mill easily handles high-fiber and moist materials (≤30% moisture).
